Title Block - Internal Attributes

Hi All

I've been trying to find a list of Fusion 360 'Title Block' internal attributes, but my google-fu has not come up with anything definitive.

Could someone point me to such a list or could an Autodesk staff member publish this information?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the post, this has come up before, see this thread here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/title-block/m-p/8112224#M162928.

A few of the default title block attributes do already have some auto-population "smarts", but they need to be named correctly so they are recognized.  We are currently working on an in-Fusion title block editor where we will be able to expose more of these.  In the meantime the attributes which will work have the tags: CREATED_BY, CREATED_DATE, SHEET, and TITLE_1.

Thanks,
Chris

So what about 'SCALE', which does work. I think there are more of them than the list you mentioned.

It would be good to get a full list of the current ATTRIBUTES even if there is no editor yet, I was able to get a title block created with an OSS CAD package and would like to see if there are any other 'smart' which might be usefull to me.

Thanks

Mike

Now the editor is released, is their a full list of built-in attributes?
Mass for one would be very interesting!

Hi @Anonymous ,

The list of available attributes are indicated in the Attribute dropdown menu in the Block Editor Environment below "Custom", like this:

We plan on expanding this list to include additional properties, such as mass or weight, so if there's something specific additional you'd like to see here please let us know so we can include that feedback when we implement enhancements to the attributes functionality!

Items that are currently in my title block. Some are already in the component properties, others not.

I assume you have a strategy on which can be in there, but adding them in 'properties' would score you bonus points!

  • Part description (as given in 'properties' of the component)
  • Part number (as given in 'properties' of the component)
  • Part mass (as calculated in 'properties' of the component)
  • Part revision (which for most people is different than the version)
  • Part state (preliminary / prototype / released)
  • Stock material (a lot more specific than 'steel', e.g. EN 10025: S355J2 - EN 10029: class d, thickness 4)

Hi,

I think you should leave the church in the village.
For me e.g. geometric and physical data do not belong in the title block but in the parts list.

And I don't think they will force you too, but in machine construction (the bussiness I'm in), it is common practice to make a drawing for each component and put the stock material in the title block so the planner / operator / cost estimator know which stock material to buy / start from / account for.

We are also in machine building and stock, amount needs and such always go on each drawing

Hi All

In the latest release of Fusion, we added new model attributes to the title block. These include; Material, Mass, Part Name and Part Number. Check out the details in the latest what's new blog post: https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/may-2022-product-update-whats-new/#Drawings

I'd love your feedback on this. If you're up for it, here is a link to my calendar, please book a session with me, I can show you what we're building over Zoom. I'll even give you a sneak peek at some of the upcoming projects that we are working on.
