Timeline sometimes dissapears (mac)

I am new to fusion so this might be a mistake on my end for sure, but here we go: after working some time in fusion, if it stays as an inactive window for sometime (or maybe after the computer goes to sleep mode and come back) the timeline dissapears. It's still there somehow as if I hit play the whole work flow will play, but the timeline is not accessible, it even looks like it was hard cut from the interface as the gray bar is not continuous anymore.

Timeline/Design history is still on and if i close fusion and open again the timeline is back. That's my workaround but it's frustrating to do so a lot of times for each project.

Does anyone knows why this happen and how to prevent or solve it?

Thank you all so much.

What happens if you refresh the timeline display by making the top level of the document active?

Hello Phil, thank you so much for the answer. Since your comment the timeline didn't disappear so i couldn't test your suggestioin. As far as i can remember i think activating the top level would not fix the timeline but i need to double check. When it happens again i will come back with more information. Thanks again

@Phil.E

Ok, it happened. I tried to activate the main top component on the document and the timeline didn't appear.

I also tried to activate each component down there and none have the timeline anymore. If i close fusion and open again it fixes, but i wonder if there is a way to prevent this to happen or an easier/faster fix to not disrupt work flow.

When this happens, it happens on all open tabs inside my fusion, which shows me that it's a whole software thing versus an error in the specific file

Also, i don't know if this helps but i noticed that when this bug happens, i can't for example select the fill of a sketch to create an extrude. After closing and opening the software again the extrude works normally.

Thank you so much.

  1. Does a min/max of Fusion help rather than restart?
  2. if you switch mac desktops and come back does that refresh?
  3. Do you have a single or dual graphics card machine?
  4. Can you try entering full screen and then back to non-full screen?
  5. Have you tried viewing the home tab and then going back to a design?
  6. What happens if you open a new design while this is going on?
