Surface patch problem

Hi folks

I'm a very new Fusion user battling my way through my first design. I'm trying to model a small plywood boat (called a Sabot). I've sketched the bow (front), transom (back) and 3 intermediate stations, and added splined lines to those to form the sheers, chines and keel. I'm now trying to patch the 4 lines delineating the side plate of the boat to form that surface. These are the lines that I'd like to patch:

However when I select the vertical line on the right the other 4 lines forming the transom are selected also:

I figure I've grouped them together somehow but can't figure out how.

To create the transom and bow (front and back surfaces) I've used 'Construction planes at angle' which seems to have made those sketches a little awkward.

All help thankfully received!

turn off "enable chaining".  Then, you control directly what is selected:

Thank you Jeff! So easy when when you know! I could have sworn I unchecked that and tried, but probably in the middle of a string of unsuccessful clicks on various things.
