Starting over in Simulation environment

A simulation model stopped updating the part geometry due to design changes. I tried everything that I could think of to prompt the software to update the model, and ended up with no geometry in the simulation environment. The part is highly complex, so remodeling from scratch is not an option. Is there a way to make Fusion forget that it ever entered the Simulation environment so that I can start over?

Hi @Neil_Roberts ,

Thanks for the detailed explanation, this helps clarify the situation.

From what you described, it is very likely that the simulation setup (loads, constraints, contacts) lost its references after changes were made to the model geometry.

Suggestion:

Go back to a previous version

Fusion automatically saves a new version whenever you make changes and run/modify a simulation.

  • Open the Data Panel → Version History
  • Go back to a version where the simulation was working correctly
  • From there, you can either:
    • Continue working from that version
    • Or compare changes and carefully reapply modifications

Simplify before re-running: Don't use the Design/model workspace to modify the design, use Simplify

  • Consider creating a simplified version (remove small features)
  • Then run simulation on that

If above steps wont work, then to better understand what happened, could you please share:

  • A screenshot of the Simulation browser
  • A short video of what you see (especially “no geometry” state)
