Sign in via browser on fusion 360, doesn't open browser.

I had a problem today when opening the software. The software asked me to sign in via a browser, which it was supposed to direct me to, but no browser window popped up. Instead, I was left with no way to log in.

I've tried:

  • repairing and reinstalling the software
  • running the software as an administrator
  • trying a different network
  • changing the main browser

OS: Windows 11

Autodesk is disgusting!!! How can you treat your users like that? There is not even a human response to the situation, some kind of horror ...

seems that autodesk doen't care that much about this not working. My case is updates to a senior support specialist but no response what so ever. I use Fusion360 for my lessons but have send students home for several weeks now. If this takes any longer we have to switch to an other and more reliable program. Or at least to one with a functioning servicedesk.

Similar issue here, browser does open, but when I log in using my credentials I end up on a page that says "Page not found" and then nothing. Can't log in, can't use it.
Tried everything I could think of, complete re-installs, repairs, different networks, full removal, reinstalled windows.
It's been 3-4 month now, completely blocked from work I was doing.
It really seems something is broken on the Autodesks side.

if you did install any pirated Autodesk software uninstall it because it's completely sperate all the Autodesk products from accessing the network / verify client License especially if the pirated software running on Autodesk License Patcher.

So... I don't know about the situation where the login window pops up and, despite entering your credentials, doesn't log you in (although I hope you remember to enter an email address, not a username...) but as far as LOGIN from Fusion not triggering the browser, the solution seems simple:
In your default applications go to default by protocol and make sure you have your browser associated with HTTPS. If you have more browsers and logging doesn't work then try changing it. You only need to change it for https.
I, for example, have Vivaldi as my default, but since it runs from a virtual RAM disk it sometimes has whims. I changed the https association to Brave, which runs from a location on a physical SSD, and the problem disappeared. Good luck!

For some reason the "AdskIdentityManager" was not installed on my system anymore:

This worked for me to fix Inventor 2024 and Fusion360:

  1. Find this folder:
    C:\Autodesk\Access\{C9DEBFD3-72D9-3A3F-8733-EE2AB4290F0D}\x64\AdskIdentityManager
  2. Run the installer:
    AdskIdentityManager-Installer.exe
  3. next, next, next.
  4. Restart the system and it should work.
    ________________________________________
If the software is already installed on your computer you`ll get this message:
Version 1.xx.x.x of Autodesk Identity Manager is already insatlled at "C:\ProgramFiles\Autodesk\AdskIdentityManager\1.xx.x.x
    ________________________________________
  5. Go to "start" --> "Apps and programms" --> find: "Autodesk Identity Manager" and remove it.
  6. Go to step 1.

below worked for me:

1. Go to manage.autodesk.com

2. Go to Product Updates

3. Download and Install Sign On Component and Autodesk Licensing Services.

4. (It was not working till this step) Google search "Autodesk Access", download and install it.

5. It should be working now.

Step 1-3 may be not necessary.

So, this seems to be a common issue, I spent several days trying to find a solution but couldn't. after trying almost all the solution giving in the forum, I Discovered something that worked.

  • If you already have Fusion installed, you have to uninstall it,

  • then open the Fusion Client Downloader, and wait for it to start setting up

  • while it is setting up, the sign in tab pops up, immediately click sign in, and it should open your browser

P.S: don't wait for setting up to finish, just select sign in, when it pops up.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the fusion app, draining the battery of you pc (Laptops) and then press the power button for around 10 sec, until there's no charge left, then turn the PC back on, install fusion a d follow the bullet point steps again.

Give me a like if it works 👍🏽

To be honest, I'm at a loss, I ran into this problem in 2024 and I see that the problems started back in 2023 judging by the dates of the comments. It is difficult for me to understand why the company could not solve this problem in a whole year, as it is theoretically possible. It sounds insanely wild. Is the company still alive? I have not seen the news about its closure
