I have a simple problem where I cannot select a main body without it also selecting an object. Ive simplified it by making a rectangle, extruding it, then drawing a circle or square on the top face. I can select the circle or square individually, but when I select the rectangle I also get the circle and square. I’m certain this should not be happening.
I am running an older version of fusion 360, 2.0.8176. Because I have an older Mac mini and can’t upgrade,  But I don’t think my problem is related to that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Dan

I'm not sure I really understand your question. Are your circle and square on the same sketch or different sketches. If different, are both sketches on the same face of the body? If they are in the same sketch, then they will both be selected when you select that sketch. You should still be able to select individual shapes or lines for extruding or other operations. If they are separate sketches on the same face, you can also try selecting sketches from the browser to have better control over which one you select. If you are trying to select a body, but there is a sketch on the body which is getting selected, you can either hide the sketch in the browser or select the body in the browser. Perhaps something here is helpful, otherwise maybe you can try to clarify the question a little more.

Hi Kevin. I’ll try and make it more simple. I have one sketch, an extruded rectangle with only a circle drawn on the top surface of that rectangle. I can select the circle that’s not a problem. When I select the top of the rectangle the whole of the rectangle turns blue, it doesn’t recognize there is a circle on it.

Sorry, the whole rectangle doesn’t turn blue. I select the top and the whole top turns blue. If I then extrudé the top, the whole top extrudés. The circle is then in the middle of the block.

I have found my problem!

Somehow I had,   auto project geometry on active sketch plane.  Turned off.
