hello

is there a way i can select the edge i show in the picture? i am coming from Solidworks and i was able to do so in solidworks

this is the edge of a round part. and i would normally draw a line from the mid point of that edge to the mid of the circle i am sketching and make the line vertical so that it is in the center and stays in the center if i change the length of the part.

P for Project and then select the edge to project it into your current sketch (same as Convert Entities in SolidWorks).

Although from your image - if you model with symmetry about the Origin - you could simply select the Origin.  Again, same as in SolidWorks.

If the sketch plane is through the centre of the cylinder you can use Project Intersect.

Or you'll have to project the whole body. Just press P then use the body option.

Projecting the body does the trick. Thanks.

It does seem like just a extra step. But it works
