remove lines on a design/completely close gaps.

hello, im very new to fusion but have never had this problem before, i used to use inkscape to draw something and convert to svg, but recently i have been using adobe illustrator and when i extrude its like the gaps on the lines are not fully closed and its effecting my prints, i hope i word this okay to understand. all i do is select the part i want to extrude, use new body for the outline and then join for the rest.  what am i doing wrong? my ai files are correctly converted to svg.

Trim shortens the line and extend lengthens them to a target line , simples as the meerkat says

you have the command in fusion to do it but why not design in fusion360 and save importing problems

i like adobe illustrator much better thats why. im quite new to fusion would it be possible to explain how i would do what you have mentioned?
