Problems Downloading fusion 360 files

So I'm trying to download fusion 360 files from an email. When I click on the link for the file in the email, the drawing opens up in the online format, not on my already opened up fusion 360 platform on my computer...this is annoying but i can deal with it.  I click on the download button in the top right corner of drawing and it gives me options as to what file format Iwant to download it as. Regardless if I choose fusion 360 format, or iges, or step, or whatever, I get an email with a download link and in the email it has the right extension file name such as .stp or .iges, but when my computer opens up its save file dialogue box, it doesn't show the file extension or save the file as step file or iges or any extension whatsoever...it saves it as "all files" , which works with nothing. It doesn't give you an option to save it as the extension it is supposed to be in, nor does have the extension on the file name anymore.  What gives?

Yes, you are correct, this is annoying but easily corrected.  When you save the file, just add the appropriate extension such as .f3d for Fusion 360 file.  This has been the case for some time.

That's been my recourse, but the product does not always yield a valid file.    I'm gobsmacked by the breadth of failures of all sorts of late, but these file handling failures seem the most like an unforced error.    Upload failures.   Download failures.   Naming/Version failures.    It feels more like a colander than a leaking ship.
