Problem with installing Fusion 360 on a Mac

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I have a situation on my mac OS.

After downloading the Fusion 360, I had to just Right Click>Open to install.

The Mac has no issue that the file was from the Internet. Unfortunately once I click open it the icon disappears.

Does any one know why this is happening, and how to fix it?

HI @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Just to get this straight - you download the client downloader from the internet, you double click to run the .dmg file which then prompts you to right-click and open the Fusion icon in order to start the install, is that correct? Then after you hit open, nothing happens? Is there a hidden dialog that pops up? I know on my Mac a window pops up notifying me that this is from an unidentified developer and I need to hit OK to continue. Then, after I hit the OK button, the Fusion Install window pops up.

Thanks,

Thanks for your responce James,

You have it right, that I get to the unidentified developer and I need to hit OK to continue. Then, after I hit the OK button, the Right-click>open to install icon disappears and nothig else happens.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you tried restarting your Mac and then trying? I wonder if there is a dead process in the Activity Monitor. A restart should clear this up.

Also, in your security settings for the Mac, do you have the preference to allow apps to be downloaded from identified developers?

Thanks,

Hi James,

Yes I have done several restarts, but still no success.

As for security preference that will allow apps to be downloaded from identified developers, there is no problems there either.

Hi @Anonymous,

Let's set some time up next week to go over this together. Do you mind emailing me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com? I would love to remote in and get a first hand glance as to what is going on as I am pretty stumped myself. I would like to monitor Activity Monitor to see even if the streamer process launches once you hit OK.

Thanks,

Hi,
I'm still having this issue with my MAC, I have restated the computer (many times) and I have follow the steps in the previous message and I just get this error log file.
So I will attach the log file and hope that this has a solution.

I'm having this exact issue. I've restarted my computer, updated it and made sure the privacy settings were correct. My mac is an OSX Yosemite version 10.10, is this too old for the fusion program?

I deleted my Fushion 360 as I installed it again. It says that You already have the latest version of Fusion 360 installed on this system. Would you like to start Fusion 360? When I type Yes it disappeared and nothing happened.

Hi, I am having this same issue.  Using OS 10.13.6

I download the client downloader from the internet, I double click to run the .dmg file which then prompts me to right-click and open the Fusion icon in order to start the install, it verifies the image then, a message pops up saying if I want to open an application from the Internet and I click Open, then nothing happens.

I've restarted numerous times, I've disabled anti-virus, but nothing..

Any assistance would be great

Hi

I had a voyage of discovery and ended up deleting files as directed from support pages from ‘Hidden’ files on my Mac. I had to google to find out how. Once this was done I ran the installer again and now everything works fine.

Hope that helps
