Position overides Joint

I'm not understanding why Position seems to overide the rigid joints I've applied.

Being from Inventor background where there is no "Position" feature so confused what is the purpose when assembling components into a large assembly.

I use joints to lock components together in an assembly. Why does the position feature sometimes overides the joint breaking it and throwing the assembly to a mess.

When you say "Position", do you mean a Capture Position feature?   Can you share a model where this happens?
