parameter dialog box not showing up

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi there,

I encountered a pretty weird issue today when I tried to edit the parameter from the "change parameter" function. When I clicked the "change parameter" button, the parameter dialog box did not show up.

This is a video to help better illustrating what I was describing: https://screencast.autodesk.com/main/details/ae7c1770-ea17-4c77-9f76-2e350ccb9728

Your help is much appreciated!

Jason

Hi there!

Actually my issue was exactly the same as yours i think, but Keqing contacted me via skype several days after the issue and we clear the cache and restore default again and restart it, and that solves the issue. I'd suggest you wait for a day or two and then try to clear and restore everything again. If that doesn't work, you should get in touch with the autodesk folks!

I'm having this same issue, resetting views and clearing cache hasn't fixed it either.

What else can I do?

I actually have no ideas. I would recommend you to clear your cache AND restore the settings to default and then restart the program. I'm pretty sure there is a weird and mysterious bug in Fusion360 ....

Didn't mean to just reply to you, meant for the whole thread. Thanks for the tip though!

I think you could arrange a skype meeting with the Autodesk people and see if they can help @keqingsong

I'm having the same issues with the parameter window, is there anything else I can do outside of restoring defaults and flushing user cache?

Try doing a "Restore Default Layout" and restart. See if that brings it back.

I actually sorted it out. Plugged in an external monitor and the parameter window appeared on it.

Dragging it back onto my laptop screen has resolved this issue.

Same is happening here, I have a docking station at work and home, monitor layout is different though.

I'll see if the dialogue is restored when I'm at work tomorrow. Not nice Smiley Frustrated

Have you tried first click the modify parameter icon then press alt+space at the same time then press the m key next press one of the arrow keys, then move the mouse and the dialog should snap to the mouse pointer.

Mark

Edit I should have said click the parameter icon first the try the procedure above.

Yes this worked. it was hidden off the left side of my left monitor.

I never moved it, wonder why it went over there.

Thanks

It seems to be a problem with multi-monitor setups, seems to be a problem if you change the amount of monitors you're using even having a different setup on 2 computers.

Mark - thanks for the timely workaround.

Adam, Jason, etc - We plan to have an update before the end of May that includes a fix for the parameters dialog. After the update, the parameters dialog detects if it is not visible and centers on the active monitor. Most often this happens when the dialog is dragged, moved, magically beamed to a monitor that is no long available.

Please let me know if you still see problems with the parameters dialog after the May update.

This worked perfectly for me, thank you.

Just happened to me too. Restarted, deleted cache, reset layout - did all of these multiple times. Still doesn't work.'

EDIT: Missed the second page of this thread... this solved it:

"first click the modify parameter icon then press alt+space at the same time then press the m key next press one of the arrow keys, then move the mouse"

This solved my issue Thanks 🙂

What happened was i was logged in in a PC with multi monitor and ended putting the param box on the second monito, looks like it propagates when you re-login in a station with only one monitor
