I need to change the category the appearances I have created fall under. for example when I add a new Fabric Appearance to "My Appearances" it will automatically add it to a plastic category (I'm assuming this is because it was a plastic I had originally duplicated, and edited accordingly). How can I change the category an appearance falls under?

This video may help you out.  It was created to show someone how to capture an existing custom Appearance and place it into a Category of their choice and then assign it to My Appearances in the Appearance Dialog box.

Helpful, but incomplete. Not all of my Appearances have the "Copy to my appearances" option, as shown in the screenshots.

Attach your model that exhibits this behavior.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I am also puzzled why this appearance does not have the option to Copy to My Appearances.

After experimenting it would seem any Appearance, created by the icon "Creates a new appearance in the favorites" will not have the "Copy to My Appearances" option.  If on the other hand, you copy an appearance from the standard Fusion 360 Appearance library to the Favorites, modify it with your names and images, then it will have the option "Copy to My Appearances".  I am still at a lost why this is the case.
