Opening Files Crashes Fusion 360

After the update last night I cannot open any of my files that have T Spline bodies in them. When I try to it crashes the software.

I've tried numerous files now and all their different versions. They all crash. I've unistalled and reinstalled the software numerous times.

I have thousands of hours invested in these models. How can I fix this?

Please help.

Hi @alauro2NFZP

Can you share a report number for your crash? Most likely this is already being looked at by our team but if you share a report number I can verify. (FUS-194613) We are looking to get a fix out ASAP.

Hello,

I'm aware of a bug that matches this description. If your T-spline bodies have quite a lot of faces (typically several thousand) and have complex T-point/star-point arrangements, then you may well be hitting this bug. Unfortunately, the collection of models we use for testing didn't trigger this case, so we didn't spot the bug before the release. We've now adjusted the testing system so that it can catch this exact case if it comes up in future, but now we need to get this patched. As a quick outline:

  1. Your files are fine. The problem was caused by a software update, not by your data.
  2. The bug has now been fixed (by me). We are again able to open these files on our internal testing tools.
  3. We need to release a patch in order to make it possible to open your files again.
  4. We are working on it. Fixing the bug isn't the only step; we need to merge the solution into the Fusion ecosystem, and that's a bit complicated.

I'm sorry this caused so much trouble!

Thank you for the update! I appreciate all of your work to get this fixed.

My files are as exactly as described above  with thousands of faces. I'm relieved to hear they aren't lost! Unfortunately this has put me back two days now and caused me to miss a deadline.

I'll be happy to be able to edit my models again but I must admit I'll now wait to update till the last possible minute for fear of something similar happening again. As a one man operation I can't afford to be down for days.

Thanks again for all of your hard work solving this. Looking forward to getting back in action soon.

Any update and or timeframe?

This is now my third day of lost, billable work. Who can I talk to about a possible credit for my lost time? I think the very least Autodesk should do is refund my yearly subscription fee or give me a year's credit. This is costing me dearly.
