Open file from computer does not appear in browser based version of fusion 360

I am a teacher and my students use the browser based version on Fusion360.  Problem the button to load a file from the computer does not appear.   Why not?  What can I do to get it to appear.

Students need to open a file from the curriculum that we use.

Students can not install any software on the school issued laptops.  When I attempted to find a solution I though I could import the file.  But that requires installing the desktop connector, which we can not do.

Any assistance is appreciated.

The browser version is running on a remote desktop and has no access to your local drives at all. You will need to upload files to a project on your hub in a browser.

I have attempted to upload to the hub.  We are using the browser based version of Fusion360. 

Upload to hub by clicking file, then upload.   After uploading the file I click on the file to open in the desktop.

When I do this a ribbon bar appears at the top of the screen stating  the file will open for editing in a moment.  "If the file does not open you may have to Download and Install Autodesk Desktop Connector.  " 

The file never opens.

We cannot install any software on the school laptops.

So, we are stuck.  Any ideas on how to work around this is appreciated.   

The ribbon bar says the file will open, and we may need to install the desktop connector - is there something else we can to get the files to open?   I have been able to add chrome extensions...

That will not work with the browser version. After uploading, start the browser version of Fusion and in the data panel navigate to the location you uploaded the file to. When you find the file in the browser, right click on it and convert to a Fusion design, after translation you can delete the file you uploaded.

We are opening fusion files *.f3d No conversion should be needed.

I believe this will work.   I will test it out on a few more files and report back.
