Offset Broken.

In the latest release Offset has been broken, you can no longer specify a zero offset. I use this all the time for mould making so for me a pretty serious problem. Here we are again no beta testing and problems found within a few hours of a new release.

Thanks Mark

Patch workspace Offset surface. I use this all the time to extract surfaces for mould making. Just tested on a computer without todays update and it works fine so it's definitely been broken with this update.

Are you guys kidding me?

I just went to finish up a set of dies here at the forge and this is broke in yet another forced update.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Great now I get to explain to my boss that you guys yet again broke Major work flows in Fusion with another update that was not properly tested.

All I can say is unbelievable, I should be surprised but I am not.......

@FrankCao That's a real bummer! I also use this quite a lot, so being unable to use a zero offset is a dealbreaker. This needs to have a quick hotfix, as there seems to be no workaround either.

There is a workaround if you're stuck, set a small offset and extract the surfaces then use the parameter dialog to change the offset to Zero. Not going to work in all situations as sometimes even a small offsets fails.

@HughesTooling Thanks, didn't think of that. But I'm still flabbergasted how they managed to create this glaringly stupid issue in the first place. If it's just that they somehow decided that zero was an invalid input value for the dialog then it should be easy to fix, but if there's some deeper reason then it might not be as easy.

No matter what, someone at AD needs to explain this to us

I have a request on the ideastation asking for the ability to enter minus or zero as a dimension, sometimes it's useful while experimenting with a design. It's accepted but some excuse about the sketcher not working with minus numbers so it'll be a while, well I found you can enter minus numbers in the parameter dialog and it all works fine so the problems just the input dialog for dimensions. I suspect a similar problem here, the offset dialog is just rejecting zero as valid.

You can work around it, but I realize that this doesn't make up for the regression. Create the offset at some non zero distance, then go into the parameters dialog and change the parameter back to zero.

Apologies for the regression, there is no excuse I can offer.

We have deployed an update that will address this issue. The next time you launch Fusion 360, you should be able to download the update that will take you to version 2.0.3174.

We sincerely apologize for causing this regression but want to assure you that we are making a lot of internal changes that will reflect on the experience we deliver moving forward. Thanks once again for your continued feedback and support for Fusion 360.

Hi kc,

>and combine 2 bodies does absolutly nothing after updating to the 20. June release...

I tried Combine Join, Cut, Intersect on 2 bodies and the same 2 bodies converted to Components and it works fine. Its possible that your dataset might be showing some issue? Please attach the dataset or a simplified case so that we can reproduce it at our end.

For the "Gesture orbit on magic trackpad is broken" I have logged an issue. We will check this out.

There still seems to be something wrong with offset in sketch.  (iv'e got V2.0.3174).

A sketch offset of zero sometimes still crashes. For simple geometries, like circles, it works, but for a looping spline it often crashes.

Sorry the screen clipping is faint, but alas Fusion is hung.

@DavePlant This thread is about offset surface and that is fixed. You should start another thread and export your f3d file and attach to you post as well. Using a zero offset with a curve seems an odd thing to do, can't you just use copy paste?
