New Titleblock Editor Error

I'm having issues with the new template editor. Come to think of it, I had this error before the new editor rolled out.

The first page using my new template looks great, works as intended. However, all subsequent pages place the titleblock way off-center. See below screencast.

Hi @buckbMSXUR,

thanks for posting! I have been testing creating various title blocks and templates today, but haven't yet managed to reproduce it. Could you share the template with me?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @buckbMSXUR,

apologies for the late reply. I managed to find out that the pick point for your title block was set at the corner of the sheet.

Pick point title blockPick point title block

The block was placed as desired in the first sheet, but beginning with the second sheet, it is moved so that the block pick point and the bottom right corner of the border are in the same position. I fixed the pick point in AutoCAD LT so that it fits your sheets. I am attaching the DWG that you can import as a new title block in your template.

Another, somewhat tedious workaround without editing the block in another CAD software or recreating it from a scratch is to manually drag the block to the corner of every sheet.

What needs to be investigated from our side is why the block is placed in a different location in the first sheet than the next ones. I will report it to the development team.

Let me know if the workaround is usable. Thanks!

Thanks for working on that! I'll give it a try later today and report the status.

So unfortunately I wasn't able to import that dwg.

Hi @buckbMSXUR,

my mistake - I had two DWG files with similar names saved in the same directory and attached the wrong one. It should work with TEST_BLOCK.dwg I am attaching now.

The previous file still contained a block definition. Just as a side note, an instruction on how to deal with this warning while importing an existing DWG file as a title block into Fusion 360 can be found here: Insert Title Block FAQ.

Please accept as solution if my post resolves your issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

Hi @buckbMSXUR,

just as a side note - I found an easier way to fix this without using any other CAD software aside from Fusion 360. It might be not as precise, but I believe it is usable:

  1. Go to the project in the Fusion 360 Data Panel in which your existing template is stored,
  2. Go to File -> New Drawing Template,
  3. Select the existing template as the base to create a new one,
  4. Create a new sheet. The title block will be moved from its intended position,
  5. Delete the first sheet,
  6. (Optional) Rename the newly created sheet,
  7. Double-click the title block,
  8. Select Edit Title Block,
  9. (Optional) Enable displaying of the border for better orientation,
  10. Adjust the position of the title block in the sheet by using the Move feature,
  11. Select Finish Edit,
  12. Overwrite the existing template or save it as a new one.

The position differs by 0.005 in from the one in your original block - if you want to be precise, you can use the DWG from my post above. I hope this helps 🙂
