Move with copy does not work on text in sketch

If you create some text in a new sketch, you can copy it by selecting it and use CTRL+C and CTRL+V.

But if you use M (move) and select "create copy", it only copies the frame (see below - the second text is copied with copy paste and the lower one with the M (move) command.

By the way there is a bug when showing the copy menu - when the source is the upper one the window becomes too small:

If you select the second or lower as source the move windows is normal size

This also means that the pattern tools do not work on text either and only copies the frame:

I just created a ticket for it, but there is no way to know when the Sketch team might take it up. Thanks for reporting it! 

One thing that would help is knowing what you are trying to do. Bugs are often prioritized based on the following factors:

1. How encounter-able is it?

2. What work does the bug block? Likewise, what would fixing enable you to do?

3. How common is the workflow?

4. Is there a workaround?

In this case, the workaround is to make text objects into solid bodies and pattern them. So I would need to know why that doesn't work or why it's less optimal, perhaps why patterning sketch objects is a much more efficient workflow.

1. Since you use move / copy a lot in workflow in 3D design, you tend to also use 'm' in sketch instead of copy paste
2. It does not block - when you find out you can use copy past instead, but it wastes your time, since you have to delete the wrongly created item
3. Common in my workflow - but maybe not in others
4. Yes - copy paste
