Hello I'm working on some model (The model  is 80 cm long and few components), but after the update the usage of memory start to increase dramatically.

Right now the use of the ram is 2.2 GB

I'm attaching a screenshot.

My PC specs:

 Windows 10 home 64-bit

Intel Core i5-410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz (4CPUs), -2.3 GHZ

Memory 12288 MB RAM

Hi @blowhise,

Thanks for posting. I did some testing on my Mac (need to try on Windows later), and I didn't notice this at all. In my screenshot you can see I have a similarly complex model open and I'm only at .5 GB used.

Couple quick questions - when was the last time you restarted your computer? I noticed a bunch of AutoCAD components open. Those seem really high.... I'm curious if something happened and those processes did not close. A restart should fix this. Let me know if you do not notice improvement.

Thanks,

Hello James Youmatz

Sorry for the late answer, unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.... Today I made another test, no model active and see the stats, also 9 process active?

This thing starts to be very annoying, can't work much. 😞

Any help would be much appreciate it.

Regards,

Allan

Hi @blowhise,

Hmm, let me dig into this a bit more and see why this might be happening. Sorry for the delay!

Hi @blowhise,

I'm still digging into why it is so high at start up - but in the meantime can you go to the help menu within Fusion and collect your diagnostic log files and post them here? Are there any network operations going on in the background such as cloud syncs, etc?

Thanks,

Hello,

I am attaching here the diagnostic log from Fusion. There are no network operations going in the background, all that was open was Fusion at the moment of the screenshot.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi @blowhise,

To be honest, I'm not too sure what might be going on at first glance. Perhaps we can set up a remote session to go over this in more detail live. If this is an option please feel free to email me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com and we can set some time up. I will keep digging through the logs for clues though. My guess is that another app may be interfering and causing these issues based on some testing I have done on my Windows machine.

Thanks,

I'm actually experiencing this exact same issue. I went ahead and optimized my desktop PC (windows) to work for best performance, graphics, set the Fusion360 graphics etc, model display quality to low, and the memory usage persists. I have a brand new PC with 8GB RAM, and I just restarted it and I also have those extra AutoCAD components for some unknown reason. My memory usage is around 63% and about 900MB, even with no processing occuring.

I am having a problem where Fusion 360 is using virtual memory instead of ram (I have 8 GB of ram) and it keeps toping out and then freezes, I don't know how to fix this or if there is even a way to fix it by assigning things in settings. Any ideas on how to fix this would be helpful.
