Materials not being rendered until I modify them in the render workspace

I've noticed that the material appearance is not being accepted when I switch over to the render workspace. They start to display only after I have modified them while in the render workspace. Seems like this is a bug.

@jsteffle Do you mind sharing a quick video in what you observe?

When you say that it is not being accepted, are you referring to that if you render the appearance is not showing in the render? (or is the appearance not updating in the the model space ?)

Hi,

I have observed two scenarios not being accepted.

In the render space, when I render the object using the in-canvas render it doesn't render the changes I made to the material in the model space. Example - I select an applicable material in the model space that has an applicable appearance and apply it to an object/component etc. When I change to the render space and render, it does not render the updated material. The only way I have found to update the material appearance is to open the appearance dialog in the render space and make a very slight tweak to the material (I don't think there is anything specific that needs to be changed). In my last project I had about 10 different materials and I had to do this for each material which was very frustrating.

In the model space I have the appearance set to a default grey. It stays as grey even when I define an object with a material (and associated appearance). When I switch to the render workspace, make some tweaks as above and then change back to the model space only then does the material display correctly in the model space.

Thanks,

Joe

I have the same problem that Joe has. It does not appear that the appearance or materials library is available to me.
