Local Render fails to start after installing May 2023 V.2.0.16265 Update

I'm not able to start a local renders after today's update.

Tried both on 2 different machines at work with macOS and Windows (paid subscription).

Even the simplest thing like a sphere fails in the default environment with the default steel appearance failsto start the local render (in canvas works).

It was working fine before the update,

In my home machine I've blocked Fusion from updating via the firewall but the Design fails to download because it was already saved with a newer version.

The situation is a bit stressful because I need to have the renders before Friday, June 2.

Edit, June 14: Removed "URGENT" from tile, issue now solved in the latest version.

@Pedro_Bidarra

1. Are you receiving any errors when trying to do a local render?
2. I assume you already tried this but a simple logout of Fusion/Shut down Fusion/Shutdown machine/Restart machine and Fusion 360 - any help?
3. If the above is not helping, within Fusion go to Help - Support and Diagnostics - Service utility - In there Run the reset Fusion 360 - does that help?

We tried on a few machines internally both Mac and Windows are we are able to successfully generate renders on our end.

Thank you for the reply,

1. No errors, just aborts the operation and instead of the local render starting (a box appearing at the bottom with the progress, it doesn't appear, even if I go in to Design and back). CPU also is not showing the 100% activity that is normal in renders.

2. I've tried closing Fusion and starting again on macOS, then I've updated Fusion on a Windows machine, that hasn't been used, in a few weeks and only had one version of Fusion before (2 weeks old) and had the same result.

3. I can try that tomorrow at work.

It's good to know it's working for you guys, but it's upsetting that I can't get it to work. now I'm on the fence if I let mine at home update.

PS - If this failed on 2 computers after downloading the same design, I wonder if there's something in it that causes some problem that even if I create a new design and try to render (because that also failed) it corrupts the cache or something. 😕

Certainly let us know if this also helped or not - within Fusion go to Help - Support and Diagnostics - Service utility - In there Run the reset Fusion 360 - does that help?

On your home machine that you have not yet updated, is rendering working correctly?

On my home machine (not updated yet) local renders are working correctly, I've tried to render some of my project assets that I hadn't changed after teh update and they worked, also tried a version of the full Assembly design from before the update and is also working.

I am trying to isolate if this is a software/machine/account issue. internally we are yet to hit this issue and all local rendering are successful.

1. On the machine that is not working, can you please go to Help - Support and diagnostic - Service utility - Run the gather system info - attach the diagnostic logs.zip file in here?

2. At home machine, would it be possible for you to create a new user profile, install the latest version of Fusion 360 and try to render a new simple design?

Again trying to isolate where the problem could be.

I have the same issue. We run Fusion 360 on two devices: Windows and Mac. The Windows version stopped being able to render locally more than a week ago, and recently, the Fusion 360 on Mac also stopped being able to render. Previously, I noticed that updates would arrive on PC first and then on Mac, so I think it has something to do with the new updates in Fusion.
I don't have Maya, so I don't think the issue is related to it.

I have already tried resetting Fusion 360, as well as downloading the design and uploading it to another file, but nothing worked.

When I click "Render," I receive a message stating that the local render has started, but nothing happens afterward

Thanks for your information.

Please backup or clear %temp%/Neutron (windows os) folder. Open file, then try to do local render . Could you please help to check there are any files with spd format extension under %temp%/Neutron after click Render button? Is RenderProcess.log in it? Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

-Rui

Thank you for all the input.

On my home computer (Windows 11), under a new profile, Local Renders worked, then updated Fusion on my main profile and Local renders also worked.

On the work computers:
1 - MacOS (Ventura), I used the service utility to reset and then repair. So basically, it reinstalled Fusion. Local Renders still _do_NOT_ work!

2 - Windows (10), did the same using the service utility, reset, repair. Then uninstalled, downloaded the installer, and reinstalled. The Neutron folder wasn't present anymore after the uninstall.
In this case Local Renders ARE WORKING.

I'll post the log from the macOS from my work account. But I think @rui_wang is right, it's the temp Neutron folder that needs to be nuked, but I don't know where that is on macOS. Maybe if I uninstall via the service utility and install again it works.

Thank you all for the support.

This is my work account.

I also opened up Case ID: 20528709 yesterday, and added this thread to the comments.

Attached are diagnostic logs from the Mac.

EDIT: Uninstall (via service utility) and reinstall on MacOS. Local renders still not working.
Where's the temp Neutron in macOS?

Found the tempdir on the mac via "echo $TMPDIR" on terminal. Deleted the Neutron folder. Local Renders still DO NOT start.

@pedrobidarra, thanks for your information. Now, there is one MAC which can reproduced the issue on our sides. Confirm that, are these no log file or spd format extension file in the folder?

Hello @rui_wang,

No .spd files, but there's a RenderProcess.log (attached).

I'm having the same issue, local renders will not start on Mac, but will work on PC. Both have the latest update. Let me know if any of my diagnostic files would help!

Hello.

I have a problem from the 5/31 update and some announcements,
I was unable to run local rendering on macOS as of 5/4, I have confirmed this on 2 macOS, one on a macOS and the other on a macOS.
There was an update on or about 5/2.

There have been no subsequent updates and no problems in the last few weeks.
I am also suspicious of the update on or about 5/2.

Hopefully this information will reach the development team and the problem will be resolved soon.

Any updates on this? Was hoping this would be fixed over the weekend. Still unable to render locally on Mac.

I also have the same issue on my Mac as posted here - no local rendering, in-canvas render is fine. Tried uninstall and reinstall of Fusion 360. The issue only started over the last couple of weeks.
