Lines don't snap to place

Hello, When I am sketching on a hex nut I can't get the line points to snap into the corners, and because of that I cant revolve the shape later on.

I expect the problem is in the video he has auto project enabled and you don't. You just need to press P and manually project the point you need. Auto project was turned off a while ago as it tends to project a lot of stuff you don't need and clutters up sketches.
