lighting/texture issue with model

using unlicensed windows 10 in virtualbox.

model appearance appeared as rainbow clown vomit, however rendering a PNG resulted in apriopriate textures being applied.

i now clicked the revert to defaults button for lighting from the render workspace (which carried over to the modelling workspace) and the model appears completely black. i have attempted to retexture the model multiple times. This started by just opening the program one day and extruding clown vomit.model appears completely black now :(model appears completely black now 😞

rendered image is fine despite the clown vomit issuerendered image is fine despite the clown vomit issue

Have you tried restarting your computer or updating your graphics driver yet?

How about set the environment to "Photo Booth", is the model still dark?

The default graphics driver may not work properly for virtualbox, could you try to change the graphics driver to DX9?
