Licensing question: IP protection for companies

Hi,

I've been talking to a company about helping them with some CAD/design work, and have suggested Fusion 360 since they don't have a CAD tool in use at the moment. I've also looked into the license agreements a bit in order to see if this would work for them, and there's one thing that I cannot grasp:

When I heard of Fusion 360 a few years ago, I seem to remember some restrictions regarding the protection of IP and designs in order to use Fusion 360 (i.e. being obliged to publish all designs to the public) and especially the cheaper license versions. I can't seem to find anything like this now, is this not a thing (ever/since the licensing update) or are there still some restrictions to either the startup or the Ultimate license?

I contacted the Autodesk support chat, and they sent me here. I've tried searching and reading through the forum, and I haven't found anything that seems relevant to this question. If there is anything, I'm happy to be redirected.

Regards, Fredrik

There is no obligation to publish your work to the public.

That is unacceptable! @brianrepp can this please be addressed within Autodesk ?

A licensing and IP question should be answered by an Autodesk Employee.

Hi @Anonymous - as @TheCADWhisperer mentioned, Autodesk does not (and has not) had this kind of approach/restrictions to our terms.  Over the years there have been some limitations to access/capability differences between the Startup/Education/Commercial offerings, and a revenue limit still remains for Startups.  Some additional detail is HERE.

I also apologize that our Chat support wasn't able to better answer your question, and will make sure this is addressed.  Thanks for the heads-up @TrippyLighting!

Happy New Years everyone!

Thx, Mark - I'll ping the support team.  We've been lightly staffed with the holidays, but someone should chime in shortly.
