Hey guys, I have a quick question.
I use Fusion 360 to design 3D printers as a hobby, and recently I’ve started working with more complex assemblies. These assemblies aren’t huge, and performance is generally fine. However, ever since the new update that introduced hybrid design, part design, and assemblies, I’ve started separating my workflow more.
Instead of using only hybrid designs, I’ve started using assemblies and creating external components that reference the current assembly. My issue is that when I first started, everything worked fine, but the more I’ve worked, the more it seems that Fusion struggles to compute everything.
Sometimes it loses reference geometries and I need to remake everything. Other times it won’t sync the assembly context, and I need to edit in place until it decides to sync. In some cases, it says everything is fine, but the external component has issues computing the sketch.
I’ve also noticed that sometimes when I activate the assembly context in a hybrid design, components shift around and then go back into place when I exit the assembly context. I think the components shifting might just be something I don’t fully understand yet.
I was wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me could share some insight into whether my workflow is wrong, or if there’s anything I can do to improve it and avoid these issues. I'm more than happy to invite people to see my project.
