Inspecting STEP File Does Not Provide Surface Area

Whenever I open .STEP files in F360, I'm unable to get the total surface area of the body using the 'Measure'/'Inspect' tool. It will allow me to see the surface area of individually selected surfaces, but not the entire body. The information would usually be shown under the 'Selection 1' area in the 'Measure' pane.

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

it doesn't matter whether the geometry is from STEP or created natively.  Measure will not report surface area for an entire body or component.  Instead, use the Properties command:

In the Properties dialog, scroll down to the "Physical" section, and this will contain area:

I must be losing it. I could've sworn I had been able to measure the entire surface area in the past using the 'Measure' tool.
Thanks a ton!
