Identifying links between documents.

I have a folder that has several documents, some of which have been linked to others

There is a document in that folder that I want outright delete, but can't be deleted because it claims that there is an active link.

How can I identify what other document it is linked to?

Linking of components can be discovered in the A360 Fusion Web Database.  Take a look at the Screencast to see how this is done.  I only selecting components that had one link each but it can have many.  I hate to throw water on you idea of deleting them after you find a link, sometimes there can be links between different versions, of the same file, to different components and you will chase your tail trying to find out what is preventing you from deleting a component.  Fusion 360 has a real issue with this fact, they say they are working on it.  Sometimes you can rename a component and this will break the link but sometimes no.

AFAIK I don't have access to A360 because I am using the free version, and you need a version that supports "Teams".

For a beginner, I seem to run into a  lot of esoteric issues!

I don't believe that is correct.  A Personal license definitely has access to A360 (AKA "Fusion Team").  You should be able to go there via the View Details on Web:
