How to rotate a sketch object around z-axis

I'm a relatively Fusion360 beginner and this seem like it should be a very simple thing to do, but I can't figure it out.  I'm editing a sketch and have an already drawn object. I'd like to rotate that object around the axis perpendicular to the my sketch plane (i.e. rotate it in the plane of my sketch).  However, I have no lines in my sketch are perpendicular to that plane, so have nothing to select as my rotation axis.  Is the only way to do this is to draw a construction line that's perpendicular to my sketch?  This seems like a huge hassle and I'm sure there must be a much easier way to do that.

I hope I am understanding your question.  You can use the Move/Copy command on the sketch to do this.  The main thing is to remember to set the rotational axis to before you try and rotate the sketch.  Take a look at my Screencast.  Now if the origin in not the pivot point your desire, you can use any point in your sketch.  You can even add one if you need to to make a very unique rotational point.

I found the proposal of moving sketch items unfavourable as it is a destructive operation, and I needed to keep a copy of the sketch in its original place and position and be able to edit parameters without having to re-do the rotation. Though you can copy the sketch with non-linking projection and then rotate the copy, it's still a destructive operation. You can in certain cases (I'd wager the majority of cases) extrude the bodies in place, and then rotate the bodies as opposed to rotating the entire sketch to make this a non-destructive operation. To then join or cut an existing body with your extrusion, you can use the combine operation.

Thank you for your video @jhackney1972, actually I don't have the "Set pivot" option, I have all the 5 others, but not this one 😞

Do you have any idea why ?

I tried this and it rotated a few things 90 degrees and a whole bunch rotated 89.8, or less. Like what happened to others, this destroyed my image.  Why is this not an easy to do thing. There is usually a left and right arrow above the ViewCube, but they seem to disappear when I want to rotate the sketch.  This seems very simple to fix or at least make very very easy. I shouldn't need to go to move, select axis etc etc. Click the arrow once for 90 and twice for 180. In the immortal words of JLP..."Make it so!"
