How to "project" an axis to a surface?

In this case, I have a hole in the front face of a rectangular block. I put an axis construction line though that hole/cylinder, as I need to create a new sketch on the top face of the block and draw features that will be a certain distance from the hole center on the front face. I am thinking I need to have that axis through the hole/cylinder, and then project that axis to the top surface so that I can use it in dimensioning the other features I am going to create.

Searches have not yielded anything useful.

How is the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Chris

Placing the Axis through the hole is an extra step you can avoid.  Take a look at the Screencast which shows simply projecting the hole into the sketch which will give your a center to dimension to.  There will be cases where another method is better.

Well, thanks but you were on the wrong axis. My holes are on the front face. Now I must create features on the top face a certain distance from one hole. Your screencast did give me an idea though, and I tried a projection to the top surface and it seems to have worked. When I went to dimension my feature on the top face sketch there was a line on the top surface I could select as one end of my dimension. Note the purple line on the left in alignment with the axis line.

Thanks for the help,
