How to mill gridlines with a V-bit?

Hello community,

I have designed gridlines (see photo) which I want to mill into my spoilboard using a 90° V-bit at 0.5 mm depth (maybe 1 mm, but I guess that doesn’t matter much).

My idea was simple:

  • Take the sketch → generate the manufacturing model (this part works fine).

  • Then I selected Engrave, set the depth to -0.5 mm from the surface → also works in principle.

Problem:
When I select all lines, Fusion only generates a toolpath around the outer boundary. The inner horizontal and vertical gridlines are ignored, even though I have them selected.

I can’t find a solution – it seems Fusion just doesn’t want to generate a toolpath for the internal lines.

Any advice how to get Fusion to mill all the gridlines with a V-bit?

Thanks in advance!

Stephan

It probably would have been more appropriate to post your question over here...

You can create Patterns in the CAM environment. A simple sketch with just the first X and the first Y paths will suffice, although I would probably suggest 2 U-shaped paths to avoid backtracking

This is better with U-Shaped paths:
