When I export a generative design project, It does not export the outcomes and, explorer tab can't be opened. Is there was way to export a .f3d file with explorer tab?

Hi @fatih.butev

This needs a little more elaboration - when you export from Fusion 360 to your local and then back to Fusion 360, then you cannot see the explorer tab?

Best,

Alex

Yes, If I open the exported file, I cannot see the explore tab. However, If I open the file from the cloud, I can see the explore tab. I'm trying to send the project to someone else without making them wait for another process.

Have you tried exporting as STEP file? They usually have the original hierarchy when opening the received file.

Alex

Hi @fatih.butev,

It sounds like you are trying to use File->Export to create an f3d file that carries with it the generated outcomes from a generative design study (which you look at with the Explore environment).

Unfortunately, generative designs live in the cloud until you choose one to Export to a new document, and Fusion is unable to bundle all the outcomes generated into a local file on disk (outcomes from a generative design run are very heavy, often requiring multiple gigabytes of storage, and it would be really slow to download them all!).

Two ideas to consider:

1. The only way I'm aware of to allow collaborators to see generated outcomes in the Explore environment is to use a Fusion Team Hub and share the project with the collaborator. Team Hubs aren't available for the personal/hobby tier of Fusion 360 (I'm not sure about education). Details on how to use a Team Hub for collaboration are here.

2. You can also export the outcomes from Explore that you want to share to new documents, and export those documents individually to f3d files. Since exporting outcomes is now free (link), you can download as many outcomes as you wish in either b-rep or mesh formats.

Hope that helps!

Ben
