Is there a way to simply Ctrl + S and have the file saved without the prompt to add a description?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting in the forum! I don't think there is a way to do so unfortunately.

Maybe use CTRL+SHIFT+S as a way to periodically save the work (basically updating the recovery file) and then only CTRL+S save with version control increment and version description/comment when a feature is complete or when closing the file for the day.

I'd like to see this implemented as well. Considering the number of times you have to save various files it would be helpful to breeze through it. I rarely enter any version info. When doing a PCB layout with schematic, 3D PCB, PCB layout and going back to the 3d model to test it would be much faster to be able to save without that prompt. I looked for a switch for that but could not find one.

Please, it's 2024. Give us the option to not use this prompt! Speed up our work.

Please, it's 2025, please free us from the tyranny of an extra click for every single save, it's annoying 🙂

We're working on it! We've got some improvements in the pipeline that will go a long way on improving this. Nothing more to share at this time, but we're aware of the annoyance 🙂

Can you please add to the very next release of Fusion, the ability to turn this feature on or off using a checkbox in the options section?

Also,

What would also be great if you can also add the ability, when entering a description property, to only accept capital letters. Again, you can use a checkbox to turn this feature on or off.

Many thanks in advance!

Darren

That's a bit of a niche request. It would be more feasible for Fusion to let you access the description through its APIs so you could capitalize/delete the string before saving the file

It is frustrating!

.Users are waiting for this to be implemented.

Thanks

wow - this topic is much older than I expected. And still no means to disable this 'feature' 😞
