Hi Guys,

I am working on Designing this Custom Shift Handle and I cannot figure out why Fusion will not let me Chamfer either side (need both to be about .25" Corner).  I know you pros def have the best/simplest solution, so please let me know what you think.  Appreciate the help ahead of time.

Thanks!  -Ian

Curve Comb like this?  Obvious!

Way too many spline points.  Imported sketch?

No free lunches in Fusion.  Redraw it with lines and arcs.

Might help....

Expert in the room!  Well I tried to trace an imported canvas using splines and clearly failed.  I know how to 3D print more than design, so I'll try again from scratch.  Sorry for the waste of time b/c clearly I have some spaghetti chart action going on 😕

Trace the canvass by adding

all (any) straight lines first including (to be filleted corners).  Then depending on the actual shape, add tangent arcs to the ends of the straight lines.(line click hold drag release)

add more tangent arcs / splines as required to finish the shape.

When all connections are tangent joined, the chamfer, fillet and Sweep commands will be happy.

Trace of your sketch sharp corners will be replaced by model fillets after the extrude etc.  (Two splines with 5 points total.)

Gets you here no drama

Appreciate the Awesome help my friends!!  I re-did my model using those aforementioned best practices, and then was able to come up with the perfect design for my offroad grab handle.  Thanks again for the detailed instructions, -Ian
