History,

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/whats-up-with-my-file-menu/m-p/11636730#M164723

I have done the uninstall and reinstall several times. also data panel reset, also reinstalled graphics drivers, and even used multiple PCS with different components.

Dead in the water and being charged for software that i am unable to use. I am currently unable to run my business.

the last update is when this occurred for both of my pcs

I am open to any productive discourse.  So far there has not been much and the last thread is dead.

What OS versions are you on?

I run Fusion 360 on three different computers. 2 very different PCs and one Intel MacBook Pro.

The PCs are on Win11 and the MacBook is on Ventura.

I've never seen anything like this and try to identify what the the root cause might be.

Until you get this figured out, can you open files from your hub?

@Phil.E  Any ideas on why the link in the article below is dead? Looks like it would help with the problem in this thread.

@tmash1222

Since you pay for the software you also pay for product support. What did they find out about this?

And have you tried using the "open" command?

@HughesTooling

I will follow up with those links, but the fact they exist indicates product support has dealt with this issue before, they are the ones who write those knowledge articles usually.

Another thing to try is windows scaling, but I don't know much about it. Is the resolution high and windows display scaling in use? eg. more than 100% scaling?

i sent a ticket in about the issue, haven't seen a response yet, the problem did not go away when modifying scaling, for now Crtl O gets me back in business.

Thankyou

Also struggling with this. It seems inconsistent, sometimes it works (after re-starting), others not. I have updated Java and the graphics-drivers without any luck. The "open" from tab works, but how do you insert components into existing file without "dragging" them in from data panel?

Great question. The only other ways to insert items into designs are:

  • Right click on data panel items and use "insert" from the menu.
  • Use Insert Derive from the insert menu. This creates a derive, which is similar to insert, but the result is not a read only linked design.

Please review the help pages again. This one was out of commission for some reason, now it's revived.

And to be sure: You tried File > View > Reset to default layout?

Does this hotkey do anything for you?

Show/Hide Data Panel Ctrl+Alt+P Option+Command+P

Thanks for trying, it did unfortunately not work. However, this did: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

Pretty simple fix!
