Getting inaccurate measurement

When analyzing a body by going to preferences > Bounding Box, The height of an object is returning a different measurement then when selecting the top and bottom and using the measure tool.

Have others experienced this before, and is there a way to avoid this from happening in the future?

in a model like this one, I would not expect the bounding box and a specific measurement between two points on the model to match up exactly.  Bounding Box is not particularly well defined, since it might be inflated a bit larger than the model.

Hi Jeff,

I appreciate the response. The measurement was taken from the highest point to the lowest. I've also attached a cura screenshot, showing the difference between the two different returns on measurements. A little bit of difference I could expect, but this seems pretty drastic.

To your point, what elements would be effecting the bounding box, if it extends beyond the widest dimensions? The object was isolated when I analyzed it.
