The window and free form sketch tools don't work when trying to project some geometry from a previous sketch into the active sketch.  See screencast.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I can tell you that the original geometry appears to be rubbish (when you individually select), so I would Project only a few key points rather than the mess of geometry.

@TheCADWhisperer Glad to attach it.  The file is very basic, the first sketch was a DXF import of a gear profile (too much data to extrude), second sketch I am attempting to recreate geometry to clean things up.  Thank you for having a look.

My original question remains, is the selection tool functioning properly within project?

Sketch project has never supported window selection, so technically, yes, this is working correctly.

@jeff_strater  Bummer, thank you for the clarification though.  It seems counter intuitive that one of the selection tools I use the most doesn't work; perhaps it's a legacy issue that was never updated as the selection tool evolved?

not really.  This is semi-intentional.  The thinking was that every projection causes a dependency, and the more dependencies in a model, the more fragile it is to change.  So, to encourage people to create more stable models, don't allow mass selection of geometry in Project.  There are certainly some workflow where this would be useful, I agree, for advanced users, especially.  Perhaps someday it will change...

@jeff_strater  I can see the reasoning.  In this particular project I would have been happy to simply break the link because I was recreating an imported DXF to make a usable sketch --once done the DXF becomes useless.  Maybe a warning to remove the link if too many items are selected?
