Fusion update issue - Save as mesh to Print utility (BambuStudio) works only when app was closed

Hey all,

Today I updated to the latest Fusion version (Fusion 2.0.20256 arm64 [Native], Active Plan: Personal, macOS 15.0 (24A335) on Mac14,7) and now when trying to save file as a mesh using Print utility dialog, it only works successfully only if the BambuStudio was closed. If the BambuStudio is open with some project, save file as a mesh using Print utility dialog just switches to the BambuStudio application screen without my mesh.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Right click to object

2. "Save As Mesh"

3. Preparation type - Print Utility

4. Application - Bambu studio

5. Click OK

Please see attached video

Same. This is disappointing! Seems like an obvious and easy thing to test. This ruins my entire multi-part workflow for 3D printing, which is 99% of what I use Fusion for... The Save as Mesh dialog should also remember what you used last; this is hundreds of extra clicks over a week.

This whole workflow is surprisingly poor for people 3D printing. Right Click > Export is different from Right Click > Save as Mesh > (Preperation Type) Export, which is overly nuanced. Here's the ideal method:

1. Select one OR multiple bodies/components.

2. Right Click > Print Utility

Also, never used the feedback button in Fusion, but it says, "Unfortunately, bots can't start surveys."

I got the same bot message when trying to give feedback. Probably because I use a vpn. I hate that some companies treat vpn users like lepers. Anyway, I came here because Save as Mesh no longer defaults to the print option, so I keep forgetting to set it each time. Autodesk, please improve the workflow for people trying to 3D print their parts.

Hi,

if you had only read one of the many posts on this topic you would have seen that there is a ticket for the problem and that work is being done on it

I don't generally read the forums as a whole. I just did an internet search limited to the last week which sent me to this thread. Glad to hear it though.

@Sualp.Ozel for me it's not fixed. I updated to 2.0.20460 x86_64, restarted, and then initiated a Save As Mesh by right clicking the root of the browser tree. I changed to Print Utility, opened in Prusa Slicer. I then repeated those steps and it didn't remember Print Utility. It still defaults to Export.

Ah, okay just the Bambu Studio problem was fixed. I thought remembering the Preparation Type selection was being worked on as well. Is that coming in the next update?

Well, guess it wasn't coming in the next update. Bummer. Hopefully the *next* one!
