Fusion latest update causing very slow loading speeds

Hi,

I am am experiencing incredibly long loading times with this latest update, especially shifting from the design workspace to the 2d drawing. Parts of the app will actually go black and it will say (not responding) next to the name see below screenshot.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have a potential fix?

@justinking30 We have had the new update for a little over two weeks now and what you are experiencing is certainly not a common one that we have heard or know of.  We can get to the bottom of what could be happening but it would be great to start with:

1. Your OS and if OS is up-to-date
2. your graphics and if the driver is up-to-date (or may be even an uninstall/re-install of driver)
3. If you take Fusion offline , do you experience the same 9will eliminate any network related issues)

Lastly, logout of Fusion/close Fusion/restart machine/ login back in again. Does it many any improvements.

Hi Rajkumar, thank you for your quick reply.

I tired what you suggested and there is no change with performance.

1.Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎6/‎01/‎2021
OS Build 19045.6332

2. Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8559U CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable)
Storage 466 GB SSD Samsung SSD 860 EVO M.2 500GB
Graphics Card Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics 655 (128 MB)

Any other ideas? I asked my colleague if he was having any issues with his version of fusion and he isn't, which is strange as we have identical computers.

@justinking30 In Fusion got to Help - Support and diagnostics - Report Performance issues - Follow the UI and after saying and reporting can you report back the Report ID of your submission?

@LishuangLu Lisa, tagging you here.

Thank you for reporting and recording the performance issue, @justinking30!

We've received the performance report and logged it as a drawing ticket for further investigation. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have any findings to share.

Regarding the slowness being observed only on your machine and not your colleague’s, could you please double-check the following:

  1. Graphics Drivers:
Ensure you're using the same graphics driver version as your colleague. You can verify this via Device Manager → Display adapters.
  2. Team Hub Consistency:
Try switching to the same team hub your colleague is using and see if the issue persists on your end.
  3. Fusion Preferences:
Restore your Fusion preferences to default and check if that resolves the issue.

Please let us know if the problem continues after these steps. We appreciate your support and collaboration!

Best regards,
Lisa

Thanks for the quick feedback, @justinking30 !
We're actively investigating your performance data report and analyzing potential root causes.

We've already identified some clues that may explain the longer processing times on your end, but we’ll need a bit more time to investigate the solutions.
We'll keep you updated as soon as we make further progress.
Thanks as always for your continued support!

Best regards,
Lisa

Hi @LishuangLu

Would it help if I reinstall fusion?

This is greatly effecting my productivity at work.

Hi @justinking30, You could try reinstalling Fusion. The case is we haven’t been able to reproduce the issue internally, so we can’t confirm whether this will resolve it for you.
Meanwhile, we will follow up with the relevant team to explore any possible workarounds that might help.

Thanks,

Lisa

@justinking30 , can you please have another try by uncheck the Part and Assembly Design Workflow Preview Features from Preference?

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi @justinking30, not sure if you have already turned off the preview feature option.

If you haven't yet, could you please help submit another two Report Performance Issue when you encounter the same slowness? The development team would like to understand whether the data cache can improve on the second time since it has been considered in the current logic to improve such heavy lifting. Gathering additional performance data will help us see if there's problem that might still exist. Many thanks for your support!

Lisa

Hi @LishuangLu

I have submitted another report - 106651

However, I don't appear to have that option for turning off the preview though.

Hi @LishuangLu

I just noticed its not isolated to transitioning from design to 2d drawings - just opening the 2d drawing workspace creates the same issue.

I submitted another report showing that - 106652

Hi @justinking30, here is one more attemp for you based on team's suggestion:

Could you please help us by locating and collecting the following file on your machine?

%appdata%\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\AcCore\production\reg.json

Once you've done that, please close Fusion 360, delete the file, and then relaunch Fusion to see if this resolves the drawing issue.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Regards,

Lisa
