Fusion crashes when trying to access windows explorer

Hi,
For quite some time now I am experiencing an issue, where fusion stops responding or just crashes when trying to access the windows file explorer like when trying to import any type of file, be it an object, a vector graphic, a reference image, or when trying to export a Body as an STL.

I have already reinstalled fusion three times, made sure that my PC has the newest Windows 10 version and I have tried to repair the "Autodesk desktop connect service", as it was recommended in an Autodesk troubleshooting guide.

Has anyone ever experienced a similar issue or has an idea on how to fix it?
It's extremely frustrating as I always have to swich to my friend's PC in order to export my designs.
Thanking a lot in advance!
Nikolaus

I had a problem like this because the last save to directory was no longer available, there is a fix in this post. A clean install would also fix this problem but an ordinary uninstall doesn't.

Thanks a lot for your reply!
That seems to be exactly what happened to me! I've saved my last file to my NAS and the file path wasn't available anymore...

For those having a similar issue, so you don't have to jump between multiple forum posts:
Go to:  "(%APPDATA%\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\NMachineSpecificOptions.xml)" and edit the "LastDirectoryOptionId" Parameter to point to a valid path. It might be possible to simply delete the invalid path and leave it but I've inserted a valid path just to be on the safe side.

Have a nice weekend
