Fusion breaks every time an update is pushed on Mac OS

It seems every time a new update is pushed, the Alias I have in my dock for fusion 360 breaks. I then need to go into ~Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Webdeploy/production and make a new alias for the dock.

Does anyone else have this issue?

It's really annoying when you quit fusion, and it won't relaunch, since you have no idea the update was pushed in the background.

@mad.macs We have not heard about issues at least recently around this (We had a few issues around this in the past but we have died them like over 8 months ago). Here is how I do this on a Mac and in our internal testing we update builds almost on a daily basis.  When I install Fusion and on the first launch, I simply dock the icon at that point and that is it. I have never had to redo the icon since then.

@mad.macs Since this post, I have had discussions with our BRE team that builds Fusion 360 and here are certain details that will help:

The Fusion 360 launchers are found at ~/Applications and the location you have below should NOT be used to create dock shortcuts since they are different for each live update. Using the icon from ~/Applications and dragging them into the dock should do it. This will ensure that on each live update the dock shortcut still functions.

If you can make this change and on the next update see if you are good, that would be a good check for us.

I don't have an app in ~/Applications to make the alias from. I think that's why I was using the one in Application support.

@mad.macs This is the applications under users and not the typical applications under Systems

/Users/rajkumarilanchelian/Applications and NOT /System/Applications

Shift + Command + G ->type ~/Applications

A new update was pushed, and once again, Fusion disappears from the Dock, gets put in the trash, and is not replaced by the new icon.

@mad.macs Even after creating the shortcut from the user application as mentioned in the above post?

We have not heard any other issues around this after we have made this change more than a year ago. One another thing to try would be:

1. Remove the icon from the dock now.

2. Go to launchpad and open Fusion

3. Now in the icon that is generated in the dock do a keep in dock

4. This should also do the same as shortcut from the users application.
