What's happening with my 360?  I'm getting totally different responses when I use the S or Q keys than I should get when using them.   I've watched Lars videos and sometimes I get the responses he gets and sometimes you would think I wasn't even in 360.

Hey @Anonymous,

I'm sorry to hear that! Can you tell me a little more about what is happening when you push the S and Q keys? Are any other shortcut keys behaving in unexpected ways, and is anything else behaving unexpectedly in other programs? From the sound of it this is happening randomly, but if you can manage to take a screencast of this problem that would be really helpful.

I think my Fusion 360 program must be corrupted. I get none of the responses that I see on Lars Christensen's video "Tutorial for Absolute Beginners, Part 1". When selecting a plane for a new sketch the view doesn't rotate to that plane. When going from 2D to 3D the plane doesn't rotate to the 3D plane. When selecting a face for offset, the plane doesn't rotate to that plane. When I first started I got the responses on Lars' video (p to a point), but then every thing went to pot. Now I get NONE of the responses. When selecting a plane for a new sketch the plane will not rotate to the plane. When going to 3D the view doesn't switch to 3D. When going of offset - FORGET IT! Nothing is working.

Hey @Anonymous,

there's an update coming out in about an hour - can you try updating Fusion and then let me know if you're still seeing the same problems? If you are, let me know and we can set up a time to try remote access troubleshooting if you'd like.

I'd be happy to update - just tell me how. I opened Fusion 360 hoping for some direction - I didn't find anything about an update. Thank you for all your help. Bruce

You may need to close out of Fusion and reopen it to see the "update available" banner. Please let me know if you don't see it after restarting!

I'm sorry to hear that! It sounds like it might be helpful for us to try remote access troubleshooting, if you're ok with that. You would just have to download Teamviewer and let me know what time is best for you. I"m available from 11:30am - 1:30pm PDT (UTC-7) this week, as well as 7:30am - 8:30am and after 4:30pm in the same time zone.

It looks like the email may not have gone through - I don't see anything in my inbox. I escalated this case though and will send you an email through our case tracking system in a sec!

I'll just need your computer's Teamviewer ID and password a few minutes before we start - you can send that to over PM or by replying to the case email I sent, whichever you prefer. Teamviewer has an audio option, so if you have headphones we can hop onto a call through the program. If you don't heave headphones handy or you'd rather not have me call, no problem - there's also a messaging option.

Hey Bruce,

I edited your last post to take out the Teamviewer info - anyone can connect to your computer if they have the ID and password, so we recommend that you only give it out through private communication channels like PM or email.

Talk to you soon!

Hi Bruce!

Here's the link to the Learning pages, and here is a post by Jeff Strater listing some of the most helpful forum threads about guitar modeling.

Thanks again for your patience, and sorry for the delay in posting the resources! I'll keep you updated with what I find out about the view issue when clicking on planes/creating sketches.

Best,
Kate

Hi @Anonymous!

I've looked into our internal documentation and it looks like there may be a bug that's causing your view to not rotate properly when sketches are created, so I'm going to log it with development. Would you mind doing me a favor and making a short screencast that shows what happens when you create a sketch? The developers love visuals 🙂

Here's an article that goes through how to use Screencast, and here's a good post with a video walkthrough of how to do it. (The article says "Inventor" at the top, but Screencast works for Autodesk products in general.) If you need any help documenting this, just let me know!

Thanks!

Kate
