I am trying to add text. It gives me the option now of Text on Path (YAYYY!), but when I go to place simple text in a sketch, it only lets me create a rectangle for the text and then won't allow me to enter an

Is there any update on when this will be resolved or where to get more help? This may seem like a minor feature but I use it daily for branding and part serial numbers so it is critical to my workflow.  I have gotten it to work correctly when opening a step file directly from my computer, but it will not work for any old or new models I create in Fusion 360.  Thanks

I don't know why, but yesterday I went to put some regular text (not on a path) in and it worked! I haven't had any updates in the interim, so I don't know why it suddenly started working again.

Mine still doesn't work. I'll try forcing an update.

I am having the exact same problem. I can't add text except on a path! As a workaround I sketched a line, then placed path text on top of it, but the normal text seems totally unusable. Please let me know when this is fixed.

Hi,

In the German forum it is reported that the error was related to the graphics card/driver of the 2nd monitor.

As Guenther explained to me, the problem only occurs when you use Fusion 360 on your secondary monitor. I dragged the application back to my primary monitor (my laptop screen) and the text worked normally!

What an obscure bug--hope it's fixed soon because my secondary monitor is so much larger...

Hi,

maybe this thread  and @oliver.klemmTCHS3 can help.

I discovered this on my own last week and I have been meaning to write a reply. Reading that there are others with the same workaround (moving Fusions back to my main laptop monitor) would imply it is not just me. Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully, they will fix this in an update soon. This simple feature, but has caused some serious delays for me related to branding and part numbers on my models.

Here's what I have to say: yes, there seems to be a bug somewhere in display drivers, or perhaps in Windows display scaling, that is interacting with a bug in Fusion 360. When bugs in different pieces of software cause them to work poorly together, then each software developer must choose how to proceed:

A) Wait for the other developer(s) to fix the problem and all users to roll out that fix

B) Fix their own side of the issue

I do NOT accept solution A. Autodesk should fix the bug within Fusion 360 so block text works on everybody's second display. On behalf of all users affected by this issue, I ask: please create a bug report for this and fix it!
