Fusion 360 Sync

For some reason last night my Fusion 360 program stopped allowing my projects to be synced with the cloud.  I get the error "We're unable to synchronize your projects".  I go to the A360 drive, logon and notice all my data is very old and none of my projects or folders for the last several weeks are there (and I don't even have a 1G of data, so not a limit issue).  Then I select the Fusion cloud pulldown tab, only the pinned items show up.  If I click on the ALL, OWNED or SHARED tab, I get the error, "Sorry.  The operation you selected couldn't be performed".  This all started last night and I haven't made any changes to my computer.  Logged on from another computer and another network with the same results.  So I've tried reinstalling Fusion 360, but it seems to be more of an issue on the cloud side and not mine since other computers and networks end with the same results.  I would greatly appreciate any help, especially since I was in the middle of a project when this error started.

Thank you,

Jasen

Just noticed another anomaly.  If I click on one of the recent projects, it allows me to open or download it in the Fusion Cloud.  I also see the clouds folder path indicating my projects are all still there.  Yet if I go to the main screen, still get the error under ALL, Owned or Shared and will not allow access to my projects.  But all of my recent projects show up on the right hand side of the screen and I can access them through that interface, download or view them.

Just downloaded all of my projects since they were shown on the right side of the screen under recent activity.  Created a new project folder and placed the objects into that folder.  The new folder and projects did upload to the Fusion cloud and I see all the new items (including one I edited in order to prove it was new), but yet under the main section of All, Owned, Shared, the error still exists.  And my Fusion 360 program again states unable to sync projects.  Seems obvious there is a cloud issue here.

Since posting, I see another person has started another thread that is almost identical to mine.  Are there even more with sync issues?

Hi @jasengrice,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

I am sorry to hear that! I am curious to see if this is a known issue we are currently tracking with A360. Can you please email me your diagnostic log files from the Help menu within Fusion 360 as well as provide the email address associated with the account. These should give me a better idea as to what is going on.

Thanks and sorry for the delay in getting to you,

Mike with Fusion support already remoted into my computer and downloaded them. If you still want the file, I'd be happy to send.

The account email is the name you used above at hotmail dot com. I contacted two friends with files we share. One can access his files and mine. The other is in the same boat as me....no access.

Hi @jasengrice,

Have either of you tried enabling CAM cloud libraries recently? If so, please check this post here. It should be all fixed by now and your project list should be accessible for both Fusion and A360. Can you confirm this? I do note, there is a possibility that if you try to access your Asset folder via Fusion 360 that it can cause a crash.

Thanks,

Yes. As soon as I got off the phone with Mike, I noticed my files were now working again. Thank you. But of course I still cannot access the assets folder on the A360 cloud. Also, unfortunately I did try and access the asset folder in fusion which locked up fusion. I had to do a complete clean install to get the loop of error/close down to stop. But not I have it back working with no issues. Just haven’t gotten around to installing the post locally via the CAM screen.

Thanks,
Jasen

Hi @jasengrice,

That is good to know, thank you for sharing that information. So, when you try to access your assets folder, you do not crash, but instead Fusion just will not open up? If you do not mind can you test one theory for me.

  • Try to access the Asset folder (which will cause a hang and a force quit/crash again)
  • Relaunch Fusion
  • Does it not open anymore and crash?
  • If so, instead of clean uninstalling, can you try
  • Enable hidden folders from Control Panel (guide here)
  • Navigate to C:/users/<username>/appdata/local/autodesk/autodesk fusion 360/<GUID>
    • <GUID> is just an alphanumeric folder name that is specific to your account.
  • There should be a file called Nscloudbrowsercache_myhub.dat. Rename this file.
  • Reopen Fusion
  • Does it work?

If so, can you email me that .dat file that you renamed so we can examine it.

Thanks,

Guess I picked the wrong words.  What I meant by loop is that it crashes.  When I start it back up, it never lets me move from that folder again.  I did a restart and complete uninstall, yet still stuck in the startup then crash loop.  I had to do a complete clean install in order to get out of the cycle of crashing.  But now it's back up and running run, all access to my files.  Hopefully this cam post issue will be resolved soon, but I don't see a problem so long as I can access it via the local machine.

Thank you all for your help.  The entire fusion team have been wonderful with helping me.  I appreciate the calls and updates from Mike and also here from you.  Some of the most expedient tech support for software I've ever received.

Thanks for the email.  Just let me know if you need any files for troubleshooting the CAM cloud post issue.  Happy to help in any way I can.  If you need a test victim...LOL....happy to do it.

Hi @jasengrice,

Not sure if you saw the edit in my post  (2 above), but can you test that theory out for me? That would be a huge help to the team and we will add the results to the sticky note on the forum boards.

Thanks,

Sorry, I didn't see the edit.

So yes I did as you requested.  Clicked on the asset folder, got the lock up and error report window then it shutdown.  I navigated to the folder and file you stated, renamed and it started back up just fine.  No cycle of crash on startup.  Wish I had known this a few hours ago, pulling my hair out and finally doing a clean install....LOL.  But it's good to know this now.

Thank you.

Hi @jasengrice,

Awesome, you're the man! I'll go ahead and get that added to our sticky for visibility. Thank you so much again for testing this out - I can repeat the crash, but can't get stuck in the loop anymore 😕
