Used to work fine now doesn't after windows update.

just see a little cursor spinner then nothing.

one fusionlauncher.exe and one AutoDesk Fusion 360 background processes

here is what i've tried:

clean install

run in compatibility mode, run as administrator

added Fusion360.exe and AdCefWebBrowser.exe to the firewall

updated windows and graphics driver

I looked for logs but all i could find was autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log

Hi @Anonymous

A couple things. Try disabling your firewall. Does Fusion launch?

Also, the logs we need are the application logs. This article shows how to turn on hidden folders and find them.

Cheers,

Karina

no application logs and turning off the firewall does not help.

I saw on another thread that the people having this problem were using a windows insider build.

that's what i am using:

I am in the same boat.  Did today's Insider Preview Update and then Fusion stopped launching.  I've done the reinstall, the clean reinstall. etc, but no help.

Here to report the same thing. Re-install didn't help. Running Windows 10 19033.1 build.

Same here.

Checked the AppData log directory. There are no recent log files in there.

Also Windows Insider Preview (slow) build 19033.1. Was running until the latest Windows update.

Hi @Anonymous @jlmccuan @rob.holmesBKLJD @nickMQK4U @Anonymous

Thanks for commenting - yes it sounds like this is due to the insider preview. We don't develop for the IP and so it's not currently supported for Fusion.

You are welcome to give this kind of feedback about how Fusion performs, but we've definitely seen this happen frequently with the insider preview. Your best bet is to revert to the supported build of Windows.

Cheers,

Karina

I was having the same issue, so I did a fresh install of the latest windows production build.  I still have the same issue.

Version 1903 (OS Build 19030.1)

Hey @bartyboris

Can you share your log files?

Thanks,

There are no application logs.  The directory C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\ does not even exist (hidden folders are viewable).  There is a autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log, but it appears that is not helpful.

Hi @bartyboris

I see you have a case open with @ryan.bales . Can you confirm, you just performed an install of Windows, pre-insider preview? What is the build number now?

I think it would be best if you keep working the case with Ryan via email. He will be able to do a remote session to see why Fusion is still not launching.

Cheers,

Karina

I did a fresh install using the windows recovery tool and chose cloud install.  I checked, and windows insider is not activated.  Running winver I get: Version 1903 (OS Build 19030.1).

I will continue with working with Ryan.  Thx.

Quote: "We don't develop for the IP and so it's not currently supported for Fusion."

If this is the official stance, you are missing a golden opportunity to get ahead of the curve. There might only be 50+ enthusiast (based on the comments) running the Windows Insider Preview Program and Fusion 360, but addressing this issue now saves you from embarrassments later when this hits thousands of Fusion 360 users running future production releases of Windows that are based on these test flights.

so your commercial policy is to say that windows insider do not interest you because it happens too often.
and when Microsoft switches from the insider version to the stable version you will not be ready and will end up with a lot of users who will no longer be able to use Fusion 360?

Hi @npaLSBDV @Anonymous

While it isn't supported, we're happy to receive your feedback on IP and develop to improve Fusion for when IP becomes the next update. My advice to roll back comes from a support standpoint, not a development standpoint.

There are a few threads that are gathering data about Fusion failing to launch on IP, but feel free to add any information you have about Fusion failing to launch here and I'll add it to the internal ticket.

Cheers!

Karina

I can confirm that this does not work with Windows Insider 2004 (OS Build 19536.1000) which is the latest. I had not attempted to open Fusion until today and realized that it was not opening, same as what other users are reporting.

Can confirm it doesn't work here either. New build with 19536 / Ryzen 7 3700X / 32Gb.

Have been running insider for as long as I can remember with no issues (with F360 at least). But our stuff has mostly been in storage as we're moving, so haven't started F360 since early October ( :

Anyway - Happy New Year to all - and especially you guys and gals at Autodesk - what an awesome product you're letting us play with. Thank you!

BR,
/Steffen
