Fusion 360 Full Screen mode [BUG]!

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty sure when entering a Full Screen mode (Ctrl+Shift+F), Fusion doesn't supposed to look like that:

Did you know that you can hide the task bar in windows?

If you spend any time on these forums, you'll find that we are very responsive and fix all the worst offenders. The team that does the UI has been blocked in fixing this until Fusion adopts a more recent 3rd party application that manages the timeline display. We are super, hyper, aware of this issue and would love to fix it, but there are things called "dependencies" that are blocking it. Otherwise it would be fixed by now.

For now, hide your task bar, and use maximized Fusion. That will give you the most pixels of height possible that is technically possible at this time.

And of course, I'll send your observations to the UI team and ask them to keep this issue high on their backlog.

Thanks!

I'm sorry you have your dependencies in a bunch. This is the first comment you have made in this thread I have found useful and exactly the response I was looking for when I posted about the issue back in November 2019.

"It is so because we haven't fixed it."

Yeah, we know you haven't fixed it, that's why we're here.

We were all able to use Fusion before entering fullscreen mode and can continue to use Fusion after we found fullscreen mode unusable. I understand how Windows works and I know what settings I like for my taskbar. My motivation for posting back in November was to let Autodesk know that this bug still has users waiting for a fix.

Thank you for the information about why this bug hasn't been fixed.

I was responding to another person when I said that, but I'm glad you found it useful.

I continue to have this issue. It's kind of a drag because if I'm stuck somewhere working on my laptop, I'd prefer to be able to see as much of my model as possible. This would mean hiding the taskbar (naturally), but also F360 with a usable fullscreen mode, AND reinstate the ability to hide the toolbar. I know it's a lot to ask, but is any of this on the timeline/feature map?

Thanks for posting.

I can't speak for any efforts to improve full screen in Windows (but I will ask again), but I can say the ability to hide the toolbar is not planned in any way for near term UI changes.

You can also hide the browser and dialog boxes by clicking the little "-" sign and collapsing them. That should give back more screen room.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just a post to keep prodding ADSK to fix the full screen mode. It's still borked after the latest update.

Windowed mode:

And the broken Full Screen mode:

Hi, this issue is still the same in Feb 2022 but I'd like to share a solution I found today for Win 10 (I don't if this solution works for other Windows versions or for Mac).

  1. Right click on Fusion App/Shortcut and open Properties
    2022-03-01_17h02_13.png

  2. Click on Change high DPI settings
    2022-03-01_17h02_39.png

  3. Check the box Override high DPI scaling behavior. By default, I kept Scaling performed by: Application
    2022-03-01_17h02_54.png

  4. Press OK and OK to close the Properties windows

  5. Restart Fusion

  6. Now, full-screen works!

Still an issue for me.  Why is it that Autodesk cannot do the basic things correctly?  Basic application operations, like maximizing a window, should be absolute perfection, no bugs.

This isn't being reported by anyone else, yet, and hasn't been reported in 3 years on this thread. Can you please share some details so we can find out what is happening for you?

What OS?

What is your monitor arrangement?

Is the display scaled?

What is the resolution in use?

Hello,
I will attempt a screenshot next time it happens. It is intermittent.
I am running dual monitors, it happens on the second monitor. The monitor is an LG ULTRAWIDE running from an NVIDIA RTX A4000 Laptop GPU.
3440x1440
Windows 10 Pro

The top bar goes missing, or mostly missing. The one that you should be able to grab to drag the application to another window, minimize or have the X button. To the point where you cannot click and drag it at all. What does appear as my 'top most' bar is the Fusion tabs and quick access buttons like 'new drawing'.

I have found the fix is to close fusion and start it again.
In this instance, fusion was not running. I opened it up fresh, got the missing application bar. right clicked on icon on my windows bar at the bottom, closed fusion. Then restarted fusion.
I wanted to state that this did NOT happen because I closed my laptop screen or allowed the computer to go to sleep, or unplug the monitor, or anything like that. Fusion absolutely does not work right if you do any of those things, so I have gotten used to shutting down fusion before closing my laptop for the day.

Hi and thanks.

From your description, you want isn't full screen mode. You want a maximized state for the application window. Your expectation in your description is for a window that has the controls available when a window is maximized, but not full screen.

The top bar goes missing, or mostly missing. The one that you should be able to grab to drag the application to another window, minimize or have the X button.

Rather than using Full Screen, try using Maximize, the green arrow is pointing to maximize.

Here is a screenshot of it happening. (I have dual monitors). Look closely, and you will see that the top 25% of the menu is cut off. Sometimes it is 100% cut off. Intermittent issue!
