Fusion 360 is slow, freezing and crashing a lot while doing simple things like editing a sketch, zooming in-out, rotating the model etc

When I installed it, it was fine. I don't remember the exact moment when the performance decreased but I would take a guess and say 1 week back

Any help is appreciated

For Fusion 360 this isn't a simple sketch. Rule of thumb in Fusion: "Prefer features over sketches": This means: "Keep you sketches as small as possible and use features to do the job." If it comes to patterns: Don't pattern in sketches. Feature based patterns are slow down, too. But at a much later point. If it comes to feature based patterns and performance:

  • Prefer components over
  • features or faces (sometimes features are faster, sometimes faces are faster) or
  • bodies

Interesting. I did not know this. I'll use feature pattern and get back to you

And what is a feature pattern? I do not see any tools called "features". Forgive the ignorance, but I've been struggling with Fusion 360's performance for over a year...

Features are the entries in the timeline by Create / Modify in the Design workspace (and not in sketches)
