Fusion 360 Exceedingly slow opening files...

Hello!

Im running fusion 360 on a 1YO Dell XPS17, high spec.  Recently a couple of files have become exceeeeedingly slow to open. The program itself opens fine, most files open fine with no delays, but 2 files have become slow. One in perticular takes about 30 minutes to load. To be fair, it is a large and complex file, but fusion appears to generate it from scratch, computting from 1% all the way up to 100%, and stopping for along time around 50-60%.

As the file has grown, it has taken longer, but maybe a minute or two at most, these 5++++ minute load times are a recent thing.

Any idea please what might cause it to want to scratch build the file and why its taking as long as it is?

Thanks!

there was a data migration in the July update for any design that had a mesh in it that causes a recompute for everything downstream of the mesh.  But, if you open it once and save it, that should never happen again.  Are you saying that you open this design, wait for it to compute, save it, and on the next open, it computes again?  That should not happen, and if it does, we'd like to see the design to see what is causing that.

Hi Jeff,

It was a finished design I was refering back to during assembly, so I hadnt been saving it.

The design started with an import of a mesh, so downstream of the mesh was the entire design process.

Once I saved both the main file, and the linked components that also contained meshes, it then opened at a much more tollerable speed.

Thank you!
