How do you fix this issue? It worked before the 6/21/2015 update

Yes this worked for me as a workaround - but I think it needs a proper fix

Thanks

Did you happen to try the solution that James linked here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/support/fusion-360-drawings-cannot-launch/m-p/7072157#M2053

Unfortunately this Error Dialog is somewhat generic, it basically is a catch all Dialog for Fusion Drawings is unable to launch, it might be unable to launch for several reasons. In the past this issue was fixed by some of the steps listed in this thread. However these old steps will not fix the new cause for the appearance of this dialog.

Their is a chance that the steps you were attempting might have no effect, especially if the steps were linked before May 2017. The new solution/workaround if you are hitting this dialog after the most recent Update, is to Launch the program as an Administrator one time and open or create a drawing once as admin. Subsequent launches after this first admin launch will not require you to run as admin and you should be able to make Drawings just fine.

  • Close Fusion 360
  • Right-click the desktop icon
  • Select Run as Administrator
  • Launch Drawings

Best Regards,

Justin Chase

Hi all,

We posted an update (2.0.3034) last night which fixes the latest problem which was preventing drawings from launching.  This fix eliminates the need some Windows users had to run Fusion as an Administrator, and also (still) corrects a bug where users with certain characters in their system username were unable to run.  Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.  If you see any issues in this area (please check the version in Help > About), please let us know.

Thanks,
Chris
