Fusion 360 crashes whenever I open a file after update

Anonymous

Fusion just updated on Jan 25, 2021 and I can no longer open files without the software crashing.  I have tried running fusion as an administrator and opening a previous version of a file and I was still not able to open the file.  I assume this issues is related to the most recent update.  I am running the following version:

2.0.9642
Active Plan: Fusion 360, Subscription
Windows 10 (18362)

@Anonymous Do you receive any crash error reports that then generates a crash report ID? If so can you pass on one of the IDs?

Did you update Windows on this machine recently? Are there any pending updates for Windows? Can you also please check if you have the graphics drivers updated? The symptom sounds like a graphics related but can't tell for sure. We have had the update for about a week now and have not heard about this issue until today.

Up-date: to 2.0.9642 caused my my file to fail to open also. I submitted numerous crash reports, rolled back versions, made a copy and cannot open it. I need this file immediately so I can meet a deadline with my customer of the end of the month. It has evolved over 8 months and has 100 machining toolpaths, and a ton of features in the model.

There is a lot of failed rebuilt features in this model because Fusion360 has a fundamental bug that causes some of the rebuild errors. PLANES change their orientation on rebuilds. I have fought with this for 2 years and am very tired of it. Please help me fix this file so I can meet my deadline.

@Kzinty I downloaded the file you shared and I could open it without any crashes. Can you please send me one report ID of the crash and I can find out every other report you sent it. This will certainly help. Also can you invite me to your project? ([email protected])

Can you send my a copy of the file after you have saved it? Or save it fixed in the shared project? Please.

Thanks,

@Kzinty I am working on another approach to this. I will use the email ID in the project to share details with you in the next 2 hours.

I don't need another approach I need the fastest fix to this file you can provide. Please.

The route cause fix can wait for the next update. I have to deliver a product.

@Kzinty Certainly working to see if there is a working version that I can provide to you. I am working with the team as a priority on this. Hoping I can share with you a working version sometime today. (running a few tests to see if it will solve the problem for you or not).

@Kzinty I have sent you an email with subject "Raj from Autodesk - Regarding the Open crash". In it contains some information that I believe will get you moving forward.

I tested my fusion 360 issues more and it seems to be the manufacturing module that causes the crash.  I can open parts that do not have CAM associated the file and fusion is stable.  If I open a part that has CAM paths Fusion crashes,  If I create a new part and open the manufacturing module fusion crashes as well.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

@Anonymous We believe we know the root cause and have a fix in the works to be updated as early as this week. IN the mean time I have sent you an email that contains a 8MB attachment that could help as a workaround. Please let me know if you have received the email with instructions or not. If you have not received the email, it could be due to the attachment size and I can find another way to send you the file (an invite into one of your projects could be the easiest way where I can create a folder and attach the file).
