Everytime I try and do anything in fusoin 360, it is slow, nd has to think. The program keeps freezing and I gett he" program is not responding" message, them the program closes on its own. Anyone else have this? I though the cloud stopped this from happening. So frustrating, I have sepnt hours trying to complete simple steps,a dn am getting nowhere. please help!

We are experiencing the same here. I have submitted countless bug reports with no reply. Fusion is for us almost useless currently. We have reinstalled after full delete (inc cache) using the fusion removal software.

Im also having issues where fusion will not allow me to apply constraints as it says that the parts are already constrained. If I save then reopen I can then sometimes add these constraints.

I feel some slow-down too in the last time, especially when working in sketches. To delete a constraint in the shown sketch (which isn´t too complicated, I think) takes 10 seconds. CPU i7 dual core is working on 42% (11% of this is background work before hitting Delete), GPU doing nothing, free RAM 7 GB left. Seems to be a communication problem while reporting to NSA... 😉V80 Lokkasten complete.jpgV80 Lokkasten complete.jpgV80 Lokkasten netto.jpgV80 Lokkasten netto.jpg

Here is another oddity. The first image shows a simple sketch with a slot created using two lines and two centre point arcs. A length is given, the arcs are tangent to the lines at each end and the lines are parallel to the outer shape. Due to the centre line that the arcs are on there is no need for symmetry. As expected, with nothing "anchoring" it or giving it a distance along the centre line etc it remains blue.
However, if I use the mirror tool to mirror the four parts along the centre line of the sketch all lines turn black. When processing this takes some time and freezes. CPU never goes above 8%, ram past 20% and any GPU beyond 4%.
I can not therefore add a dimension to the slot to position it.

Hi,

@blair.nichols ; @Anonymous ; @kristianY3VSG

can you upload one of the problematic files to have a look at it?

kind regards

I´m sorry, the design contains many imported components and it´s not possible to upload f3z here 😞

will do if you can tell me how to do so. Right now I can't even start a new
project. I can type in a new project, but thats it. it gets stuck.

its a very simple 2d design. I am not sure what f3z is?
the program is freezing on me trying to simply start a new project

Hi Blair,

you asked me this question in a private message:
"Do you work for Autodesk? If yes and not made public, I can share files - if not sick, sketch something quickly :)".
I answer here because I think the forum is the right place.
For me, everything that has to do with the application belongs in this public space.
This is the only way several people can participate in or benefit from solutions.
1. To the question: I am not an employee of AD or a company dealing with software.
2. The better the Infos in text, image and file, the higher the quality of the answers.
This also makes the "job" of the people who make suggestions for solutions easier.
But everyone decides which information is made available.
This applies to questioners and advisors equally.

regards

günther

Thanks for your reply. I only asked in PM so as not to offend and see what way we could proceed. As intimated in my PM, I am happy to share files but need to know what I can share and to who.

I will go and draw up something and add the file after lunch.

Hope that this helps people.

Here is an issue while sketching. An unconstrained line that I cant move or drag. Same with the not fully constrained object above.

Screencast will be displayed here after you click Post.

Hi @blair.nichols

though the screencast is not visible yet, I think, it´s the same problem I had in February. Just try to vary dimensioning and constraining. As far I could find out, dimensioning symmetric parallel lines by dimensioning a coincident perpendicular line crossing the symmetry axis makes Fusion crazy - it´s better to dimension directly the distance of the lines. Similarly dimensioning offset elements to others is rather critical, better don´t use offset.

Generally you cannot rely on, that fully constrained elements are black or, on the other side, black elements are fully constrained, especially when using arcs. In this sketch all arcs are black, but I can drag the left side of the outer part horizontal -> the arcs diameters adapt!!! (The right side is constrained by the vertical constraint on the right side.)

sure, can you tell me how to upload the file? it is saved in fusion360, so I don't have a local copy of it. I can't get a screen shot, as even trying to zoom into the object seems to crash the program.

the first body took 2 minutes to complete. It has taken me well over a week to sweep a jump ring perpendicular to this first body. this is a very simple design, and should not cause the system to keep crashing.

here it is, crashing some more about three seconds after it stopped. some new colours and lines added tot he background this time.  been at this for over 2 hours this morning....really need to get this one file completed. debating learning to use a whole new program. this is ridiculous.

@Anonymous - I searched our crash database, and have not seen any crash reports from your email in the past 30 days.  Are you sending in the crash reports?  Do you have your email addressed filled in if you do?  Though I understand this can be a pain, it can help us determine what problem you are seeing, whether it might be a bug, or maybe graphics driver related, etc.

Also, please share your design, if you can. Choose Export from the pulldown:

export menu.pngexport menu.png

make sure that the export type is set to "Archive Files (f3d)", and "Save to my computer" is checked.  This will put an F3D file into the location specified.  You can upload that to a forum post here.

export dialog.pngexport dialog.png

Also, we need a description of what operations you are trying to do.  A sceencast (from here) is one good way to share that.  Or, you can just post pictures/description if it is easy to reproduce.

Without more data, there is not much we can do to help you...

UPDATE

I have recreated a number of my designs I was having issues with. It seems that creating them after the latest update has helped. I also have changed how I design (for now as a work around) and use far fewer symmetry constraints. Instead I have used construction lines perpendicular to the center line and more equal constraints.

I also changed my graphics card drivers to newer gforce ones from the "creator" release instead of the "gaming" release. I also removed other monitors from my primary graphics card so it only outputs to one, my main monitor I use for fusion. I then removed the SLI cable and settings.

Touch wood, this has helped and although I get occasional freezes I have had no where near as many crashes.
